The implementation of a SCM system is not rocket science. But it is also not an endeavor to be taken lightly. Companies must allow enough time and manpower for this. And the project team should never work in secret. The following five mistakes in the project schedule should be avoided:
1. Departments are brought into the project too late or not at all
2. Internal capacities for interface topics are not planned
3. User sets project priority down
4. User simultaneously introduces another IT tool (e.g. an ERP system)
5. There are no specialist departments for process coordination
